Port Credit

Port Credit

Port Credit is an iconic community located in south Mississauga along Lake Ontario. Port Credit real estate provides unique and luxurious living options with the closest proximity to Toronto out of any of the Platinum Belt neighbourhoods. What really sets this neighbourhood apart is the Port Credit Village. This is a collection of restaurants, entertainment options and public spaces for residents to enjoy. Set against the backdrop of Lake Ontario and surrounded by multi-million dollar mansions among nature and parks, Port Credit real estate is one of the best options when searching for a place to live.

Port Credit is one of the most recognizable neighbourhoods in Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Area. Port Credit real estate is some of the most desirable in the metropolitan area. It must be noted that only the portion of Port Credit to the west of Hurontario St is considered to be in the Platinum Belt. Port Credit is defined by its village area that sits adjacent to Lake Ontario and is characterized by the iconic lighthouse which is a replica of the original that burned down. Here you will find many great night-life spots to enjoy the different tastes and ambiances of Mississauga. Popular entertainment includes the Crooked Cue, the famous Port Credit PumphouseShore Grill and Grotto and the well known Burrito Boyz. Nestled among these eateries and bars you will find many unique fashion stores, cigar shops and a various assortment of other intriguing retail shops.

Venture outside of the main village and you will find mature tree lined streets with stunning homes and also an ode to older times with cottage styled smaller construction residences. Many of these are now being replaced with grand scale custom home developments. In recent years there have been condominium additions to the village portion which has expanded the selection of Port Credit real estate and helped modernize this amazing place to live.

Community: Port Credit Village

Port Credit village is the heart of this community and is the area which gives this neighbourhood its defining characteristics. Also known for its Port Credit waterfront condos, the village is home to a growing number of developments. The Port Credit real estate here is almost entirely condominium building based with just a single luxury townhome complex on the eastern border at the intersection of Hurontario St and Lakeshore Rd. Located in the heart of Port Credit Village is the Port Credit GO Station which makes commuting into downtown Toronto extremely efficient from this neighbourhood. Most of the condominium buildings are older but have been going through an exterior facelift renovation to help modernize them and bring them up to par with the luxury standing of Port Credit. Newer luxury condominiums have been built in recent years and there are plans for further additions making this an ever evolving, iconic neighbourhood to be a part of.

Community: Mineola West

Mineola West offers some of the most luxurious and exclusive Port Credit real estate or for that matter even Mississauga luxury real estate. Bordered by the Credit River to the west and the QEW to the north, Mineola West is secluded and forms its own unique hidden community. Mineola West real estate is characterized by the mature, towering trees and palatial homes that range from classical stone constructions to modern contemporary residences. Similar to Lorne Park, most of the streets within West Mineola don’t offer sidewalks which helps give it a specific feeling as you navigate the roads among the luxurious real estate. Right in the center is Kenollie Public School, one of the best rated schools in Mississauga. Recent years have seen plenty of the older homes in West Mineola being replaced by new custom constructions. The variety has only been limited by the wealthy residents’ imaginations and therefore you can find homes to suit any taste here. For Port Credit luxury real estate, Mineola West (also called West Mineola) truly offers the most exclusive, top tier options.

Community: Mineola East

Mineola East (also known as East Mineola) is a transitional neighbourhood in Port Credit. Similar to Mineola West it is filled with primarily luxury homes. The northern portion of Mineola East real estate tends to be grander and is where most of the new luxury custom homes are being built. On the south side you can find more traditional “cottage” style homes that are characteristic of Port Credit real estate. Within the center of Mineola East is Port Credit Secondary School and the surrounding parks. Mineola East is a prime location for custom home building as there are plenty of “tear-down” properties available and lots are quite large. As you drive the mature tree lined streets seeing construction projects is quite common. Most homes here tend to be of a more classic design with very few contemporary styled residences to be found. Prices are slightly lower than Mineola West simply due to the still evolving nature of this section of Port Credit real estate.
